Ron James - Mental As Anything
Presented by Shantero Productions

With five comedy specials under his belt, and a new CBC-TV comedy series launched Sept. 25, Canada's busiest and best-selling comedian takes to the road with a new "gut-bustingly, knee-slappingly funny" 90-minute rant.
Whether wrestling with society's accelerated rate of change, stumbling on nostril-drooling bull moose during forest hikes, or experiencing the virtues of backyard composting and its promise of immortality, James brings a 'foot soldier's perspective from the trenches' in our collective march through life's bright fury.

Double Headliners - Matt Andersen and Wil
Presented by the Tidemark Theatre
New Brunswick's Matt Andersen has a larger than life showmanship. His sprawling blues, roots and rock musical hybrid with his sorrowing and soulful voice has sparked a phenomenal buzz across Canada. Matt performed at the Vancouver Island Music Festival in 2008 and was so well received that the crowd refused to let him stop at the end.
Due to very tight scheduling, encores are not allowed at this festival, so they had to call it something else when they decided it was faster to let him play another song than deal with the crowd. In half a song the entire audience was moved from cheering to tears and back again.

Wil's working-class upbringing conditioned him to view making music as a respectable profession little different from, say, fixing cars like his father. A non-stop touring musician, his expansive roots-rock sound and world-weary lyricism have built a dedicated following for his famously intense live shows. Wil channels so much energy through his guitar that he almost always breaks a string or two, so much so that he has written songs for those missing strings.
