What is TYTA?
The Tidemark
Youth Theatre Arts program
is designed for youth ages 9 - 17 who have a strong
interest in theatre arts. It offers three weeks of intensive training in all
aspects of the theatre arts
featuring new and exciting workshops
and instructors.

What will my child learn?
This
exciting summer course will include:
Creative dramatics, scene work, theatre games,
warm ups, team building, story telling, blocking, street performance, character
development, leadership, improvisation, and musical theatre techniques.
Stage fighting (get out
your swords), basic movement, dance techniques, costume and set design,
choreography, and makeup.
Music and voice training,
warm ups, singing solo and / or as a group.
Technical theatre including stage lighting, props,
stage management, set construction, scenic design, and painting.
Take the performance from rehearsal to the stage
ending in a live theatre production.
Your child will come away from this course with
greater self-confidence and self-esteem, appreciation for team work and
self-reliance, and an understanding that theatre is something they can
participate in for their entire life.
When is it?
Dates: August 5 to 23, 2008 weekdays
Times: 9:15am to 3:15pm for all participants each day
Except: on
August 22 and 23 hours will vary throughout
the day and evening to
accommodate the live performances.
What does it cost?
The fee for this 3 week
program is $425.00
How does my child get included?
Drop it off to the office at the Sportsplex
or Community Centre by Friday, June 27, 2008
You will be contacted by
phone if your application is accepted.
You will have 2 weeks to
register with full payment at the Community Centre or Sportsplex.
Enrolment
is limited to 40 students.
You may be contacted to attend an interview with your youth.
This interview is an
opportunity for the directors to meet you,
determine your previous experience,
confirm your time commitment
and to help us plan to
fulfill your wishes and expectations.
